This photographic postcard to the right shows a crowd gathered around the burned corpse of 17- year old Jesse Washington in Waco, Texas. Photographers often captured pictures of unlawful, horrific lynching’s of African Americans in the south, and would later sell the gruesome photographs as postcards.
